PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Criminal Defense Attorney 2011–Present
Represents citizens accused of criminal offenses in Travis, Williamson, Hays, and Bastrop counties
Assistant District Attorney – Travis County District Attorney’s Office 1988–2011
Major Crimes – Ms. Davis investigated and litigated complex, violent felonies, including capital murders, murders and serial sex offenders, with a special emphasis on complicated scientific evidence. She maintains a network of public and private sector experts in the area of DNA evidence testing. Ms. Davis assisted other units in public corruption investigations with duties including interviewing high-ranking officials.
Chief Prosecutor – Ms. Davis was Chief Prosecutor of the 427th District Court, 390th District Court, 167th District Court and 299th District Court. Ms. Davis litigated all types of felony cases, including DWI, drug offenses, DNA-related crimes, sexual offenses, and family violence.
Cold Case Homicide Unit – Ms. Davis investigated and litigated cold case homicides. Ms. Davis advised cold case homicide detectives on proper evidence-gathering techniques and the use of DNA, fingerprint, and other forensic evidence.
White Collar Crime Unit - Chief Prosecutor – Ms. Davis supervised a multi-agency unit that investigated and litigated complex financial and public integrity crimes. She coordinated investigations that involved federal agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service and the Health and Human Services OIG. She conducted long-term grand jury investigations into financial and public corruption cases, including the obtaining of witness testimony, business records and financial records.
Chief of Insurance Fraud Unit – Ms. Davis investigated and litigated insurance fraud with state-wide jurisdiction. She coordinated investigations with state and federal authorities, including Federal Trade Commission; Department of Labor; and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Gang Unit – Ms. Davis litigated gang-related violent crimes and advised police investigators with a focus on organized criminal activity.
